I have recently found a series of online audio meditations which I would throughly recommend. They are free to listen to/ download online at www.dharmaocean.org/meditation/learn-to-meditate/
The gentleman who guides the practices, Reggie Ray has been developing these practice for over 40 years. I sense the depth of his work in the tone of his voice, the pace at which he guides the practices and how fluid he is interchanging guided practices with insights as to how mind/ body tension develop and dissolve.
The first part of many of the meditations for example https://www.dharmaocean.org/meditation/learn-to-meditate/learn-to-meditate-awakening-the-heart/ -encourages you to sit in a semi supine position to begin with- which is like the image below… on a carpet/rug on the floor… I recommend having a book under your head for comfort and to help elongate the spine and reduce tension at the head/neck joint.
I find that the practices complement and deepen practices I have previously explored- heartmath techniques and vipassana meditation. They slowly and gently draw attention away from the conceptual and subtly divisive mind and into the still, vibrant and living intelligence deep within.
I would be grateful and interested to hear back from anyone who tries out these practices. Blessings, Bryan
